In 2002 & 2003 I made hundreds of lanterns for the annual Spontaneous Celebrations Lantern Parade around Jamaica Pond. I loved doing this and it brought me much joy. I felt very inspired playing with color, shapes and light. After the 2nd of these lantern parade was over, I found myself feeling very sad, and then, I had the idea to create lampshades, and Happy Fun Lamp was born.

These are the first five lamps I made. I continued to use the collage method and worked with handmade papers. In the next couple of years, I made over 200 more lamps and sold them to clients including Arnold Worldwide, The Video Underground, National Boston, and was commissioned for gifts for clients such as Nikon, Titleist, and Celebrity Cruises.

For a few years, I pursued other interests (like graphic design school). Now, Happy Fun Lamp is making  its comeback and re-debut at 2011 Roslindale Open Studios. New and improved- I’m now working with a blacksmith who is making me beautiful custom bases. I’m very happy and pleased to be creating lamps again. These lamps provide a soft and relaxing light. Please inquire about custom lamps to suit your home or office decor.
